This was a free community talk presented by The Brighton Natural Health Centre – a charity I helped found over30 years ago to teach yoga, tai chi, meditation, diet, dance and more.

I was invited by Kath Berry of Acupuncture Professional to be interviewed about various topics, including the early days of The Journal of Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture Professional have now kindly made it available to anyone who is willing to sit through an hour of me talking.

 

ATTACK OF THE KILLER MOXA

Oh and here’s another short video with a less than serious discussion of moxibustion. For non-acupuncturists watching this, please note that DU-1 is an acupuncture point located in a fairly intimate place, and moxibustion refers to the placing of small cones of shredded moxa herb on an acupuncture point, lighting it, allowing to to burn and removing it when it gets too hot.

  2. There seems to be no way of seeing inside the book – this is something I would have really appreciated before deciding to buy it as it is an investment. The Live Well, Live Long book.

    good afternoon, I have just finished live well , as recommended by Norman blair. I am a yoga teacher with a real interest in studying further into chinese acupuncture . With a view to maybe acu massage, where would you recommend for the best training ? There seems to be a vast choice & I would really appreciate your advice

    I hope all’s well with you.
    I’m Simon, Harvest (Bath) founder, though we met more recently (1991?) while I was working with Robin & Sue in Steyning.

    My sister pointed out your fascinating “HOW INFINITY FOODS BEGAN…” on YouTube.
    She and I spotted the Natural Foods Union manifesto at 52’09” and am wondering if you would be willing to send me a scan of this.
    Though I haven’t been formally involved with Harvest since the late ’70s, I’m currently contributing to a project to mark their 50th anniversary year (2021).
    You might know that Harvest is now a co-op and are merged with Essential Trading (Bristol).
    They’re looking to gather more information about their origins, and in the process a couple of us ‘originals’ are supplying a few images and reminiscences.
    I feel that this NFU statement would also provide a good common link and Harvest might want to reproduce this in some way — perhaps on the web, at the shop, in a recipe book … I’m not certain yet.
